The majority of Jingpo speakers reside in the Southeast Asian nation of Myanmar, particularly in Kachin State, where the language is learned by speakers of smaller languages. It uses a subject-object-verb word order, which is common around the world, and it features almost no inflection, which is typical in Southeast Asian languages. However, it does mark the subject and tense in verbal particles, which are written separately from the verb itself.
