The Scholarship

At, we help academics, businesspeople, and authors reach an international audience by translating and localizing their work. Quite simply, we love language and think that books can change lives. But many children and adults don’t have access to books because of poverty and homelessness. That’s why for every translation order, we donate five books to a homeless shelter.

The 2019–2020 essay topic

Write an essay between 500 and 750 words based on the following essay prompt:

Books allow us to step outside ourselves and see the world through another’s eyes. What book changed the way you see the world? How did this book overturn your preconceptions and inform your understanding of a place, culture, people, or something else?
